Main Street South Croxtonor
The clients of this 200 year property in Leicestershire approached The Structure Studio with a plan to remove an internal wall to open up the kitchen, convert an adjoining barn and construct a side extension to form a separate one bed holiday apartment next to the existing house. We discussed the clients’ ideas for the refurbishment and turned their ideas into a pack of drawings for planning permission. Once approval was granted we carried out the structural engineering design, calculations and updated the drawings to enable construction to begin on site. The refurbishment of the kitchen is now complete and the side annex is half way through construction. We are continuing to provide support to the client deal with queries on site and respond to building control comments.
Abbotswood Road – London
The client of this 1990s terraced house in South London approached The Structure Studio to find out what works would be involved in removing an internal wall at ground floor to form an open plan kitchen-living-dining area.
The Structure Studio carried out a site visit to confirm and wrote to building control to confirm that the wall could be removed without structural works. The works are now finished on site.
Downlands Avenue, Worthing
The clients of this early 1900s terraced house in Worthing wanted to remove a load bearing wall between their kitchen and living room to form an open plan space, and break out part of the rear wall to form a new link to the rear garden. The Structure Studio prepared the drawings, calculations and a sequence of construction for the builder to follow. The works are now finished on site.
