We are privileged to have contributed to Hieron’s project involving the renoation of a large apartment within the listed Albert Hall Mansion block. The renovation process entailed the removal of existing internal supports to enlarge and enhance the internal space within the living area. An initial design proposed by another engineer, was considered unsuitable and costly due to the temporary works and road closures required to implement and install the works. Our team developed an alternative solution which avoided these complications whilst also avoiding compromising neighbouring properties. The innovative approach used an in-situ concrete Pynford Beam in a tailored construction sequence, eliminating the need for a crane lift, road closure or complex temporary works. This comprehensive overhaul of the structural design strategy, reduced the associated risks, whilst also leading to significant cost savings.
